Job Description


As a Staff Nurse specializing in Ward, ICU, ER, and Day Care settings, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients across various units within the healthcare facility. You will work closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care, ensure patient safety, and promote positive health outcomes.


Qualifications and Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree from an accredited nursing program.

  • Current registered nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.

  • Proven clinical nursing experience in ward, ICU, ER, and day care settings, with strong critical care skills and knowledge.

  • Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and TNCC may be required depending on the specialty area.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Commitment to patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and continuous professional development in nursing.



Key Responsibilities


Ward Nursing

  • Assess patients upon admission, develop individualized nursing care plans, and implement appropriate interventions to meet patients' needs.

  • Monitor patients' conditions, vital signs, and progress throughout their stay in the ward, adjusting care plans as necessary.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians and ensure accurate documentation of all interventions.

  • Provide patient and family education on illness management, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and facilitate interdisciplinary rounds.



Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nursing:

  • Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including those on mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and life support systems.

  • Monitor and manage complex medical conditions, including cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and septic shock, following established protocols and guidelines.

  • Perform frequent assessments, interventions, and interventions to stabilize patients' conditions and prevent complications.

  • Coordinate with respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other specialists to optimize patient care and outcomes in the ICU setting.

  • Participate in code blue responses and other emergency situations, providing advanced life support and resuscitation as needed.


Emergency Room (ER) Nursing

  • Triage and prioritize patients presenting to the emergency room based on their acuity level and medical needs.

  • Assess and stabilize patients in acute distress, initiating appropriate interventions and treatments to address emergent conditions.

  • Assist physicians in performing emergency procedures, such as intubation, chest tube insertion, and cardiac defibrillation.

  • Collaborate with trauma teams, radiology staff, and laboratory personnel to expedite diagnostic tests and imaging studies.

  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.


Day Care Nursing

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient procedures, treatments, and therapies in the day care unit.

  • Prepare patients for procedures, administer preoperative medications, and monitor patients' recovery following interventions.

  • Educate patients and families on post-procedure care, pain management, and potential complications.

  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments and intervene promptly to address any concerns.

  • Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective care delivery in the day care setting.
