Dr. Nitesh Subhash Agawane is a highly skilled Associate Consultant in Anesthesiology at Cancer Centers of America, with extensive experience in anesthesia, critical care, and pain management, particularly in oncological settings. He completed his initial training as a Junior and Senior Resident in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. During this time, he developed a strong foundation in managing complex anesthesia cases, including difficult airway management, thoracic surgeries, and extensive cytoreductive surgeries with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC). Dr. Agawane's expertise extends to the use of advanced anesthesia techniques such as video laryngoscopy, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, and specialized airway adjuncts, which have honed his ability to handle challenging surgical and non-surgical procedures.

 

Dr. Agawane has developed exceptional proficiency in managing super specialty anesthesia, particularly in thoracic, gastrointestinal, and neurosurgical procedures, which often involve massive blood loss and require meticulous management of hemodynamic stability. His skill set includes the use of double-lumen tubes, bronchial blockers, and one-lung ventilation techniques that are crucial in high-risk surgeries. He is adept in non-operating room anesthesia, particularly in radiological and gastroenterological procedures such as ERCP, colonoscopy, and radiofrequency ablations, where he employs advanced techniques like apneic ventilation and intermittent apnea.

 

In addition to his clinical acumen, Dr. Agawane has gained valuable experience in critical care, working in the Oncosurgical and Medical Oncology ICUs, where he provides comprehensive care, including advanced hemodynamic monitoring, acute and chronic pain management, and implementation of emergency protocols such as CPCR.
